CBCT Inauguration

Cone Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT) is a 3 D imaging modality which
allows to collect valuable diagnostic information for a range of
dental and maxillofacial application including Oral Medicine &
Radiology, Endodontics, Implantology, Orthognathic, Orthodontics, and
Oral & Maxillofacial surgery.

CBCT was inaugurated in the Department of Oral Medicine & Radiology on
Monday 02/01/2023 by respected Dr. Kanimozhi NVN Somu. M.B.B.S., M.S.,
(O&G), Member of parliament (Rajya sabha) in the presence of Trustee,
Managing Director, Dr. Annamalai Ragupathy, Dean Dr. Mathan Mohan. It
was attended by all the head of the departments and other dignitaries
of the institution.

CBCT IMAGING OF ORAOFACIAL COMPLEX – A BREAKTHROUGH program” ON
31.01.2023 TO 01.02. 2023 followed by work shop. The program started
with inauguration with staffs and chief guest.

HODs.

Prosthodontics celebrates the day every year on 22nd January 2023

To commemorate World Prosthodontist day, Department of Prosthodontics celebrates the day every year on 22nd January 2023. This year the department had conducted various programmes. A cycle rally was organised to enlighten the public about the importance of replacement of missing teeth. The following are the Competitions for undergraduate students to showcase their talents. Memes, reels, soap carving, art from dental materials, extempore. Prizes was given to the winners.

ONLINE COURSE CREATION – HANDSON WORKSHOP – 04.07.2022

The Internal Quality and Assurance Cell and Research Division of Karpaga Vinayaga Institute of Dental sciences conducted a day workshop for the Staffs and Resource person’s on the Topic: ONLINE COURSE CREATION with a hands on workshop. The speakers are from the already existing Government Portal for Online based education and certification team. The program was conducted for about 30 Staff members from all the departments of KIDS who were exposed to How to conduct and create an online course for the students in E Based learning methods. The lectures were based on the basics and formulation of the system how it functions and all the participants were made into groups for activity in which individual groups were trained how to formulate a Course and plan for the same. The workshop highlights the importance of the technical overrule in the field of Dentistry and also provided the information which requires huge attention in the future planning and functioning of the Dental Educations System.

REPORT OF ORAL HEALTH AWARNESS CAMP

In view of International Gum Health Day on 12th May 2022, oral health awareness camp was conducted in nearby orphanages and schools on that day. Oral health awareness lectures were given by the students to the inmates of the orphanage. Various brushing techniques and oral hygiene measures were demonstrated using 3D models. Tooth paste, Tooth brush and Mouth washes were distributed to all the inmates. A total of 100 inmates were benefited from this programme. Total of 20 students participated in this programme.
